Pornchai Rojsitthisak is a Full Professor and Director of the Center of Excellence in Natural Products for Ageing and Chronic Diseases (CE-NPACD), Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. He received his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Southern California, USA (2002), and has over 25 years of experience in pharmaceutical chemistry education and research. His work integrates four key areas: natural product-based drug discovery, particularly bioactive compounds from Thai medicinal plants for anti-ageing and chronic disease applications; AI-assisted virtual screening and computational drug discovery, including machine learning-based QSAR, molecular docking, and multi-target network pharmacology; nanoformulation engineering for targeted drug delivery, such as chitosan/alginate nanoparticles, nanoliposomes, and stimuli-responsive nanocarriers; and medicinal chemistry for structural optimization of bioactive scaffolds.

The convergence of ethnopharmacology, artificial intelligence (AI), and advanced drug delivery is redefining the landscape of anti-ageing and chronic disease therapeutics. At the Center of Excellence in Natural Products for Ageing and Chronic Diseases (CE-NPACD), Chulalongkorn University, we have established an integrated discovery-to-translation platform that harnesses Thailand’s rich medicinal plant biodiversity to generate structurally diverse, biologically relevant compound libraries. Lead compounds are advanced through rational nanoformulation strategies to overcome biopharmaceutical limitations and enhance therapeutic performance.
